Vodafone has launched an IPTV service in Portugal with more than 100 TV channels, of which eight are HD, which will be available free of charge until December for existing ADSL clients.

From September, the service will be extended to the entire market. The monthly subscription to the triple-play package will be E39.90 (reduced price until the end of the year will be E19.90), for clients that opt for the Basic package with 55 channels (adding 30 more channels will cost an additional E9.90). The lease of the digital STB is free of charge until the end of 2009, after which it will have a monthly cost of EUR 5. The package also includes 24 Mbps internet access and free mobile broadband with a data transfer limit of up to 100 MB per month. Voice calls are free during night hours.

The "Vodafone Casa TV" service also features Dolby Surround, a Digital Video Recorder with a capacity of up to 280 hours, Electronic Programme Guide and Video on Demand.
