During the first four months Italy's free-to-air satellite platform TivÃ¹Sat has managed to double its own growth objectives. To date it has sold 570,000 smart-cards to manufacturers of decoders and TV sets, almost double the objective of 300,000 cards.
This result comes at a time when three new TivÃ¹Sat-certified decoders are to be launched. The positive trend is also confirmed by the acceleration of activations, which now stands at about 1500 per day.
TivÃ¹Sat is owned by RAI, Mediaset and Telecom Italy Media, but is open to all other broadcasters.
