Playout247 and VisionIPTV gear up for Internet TV growth

September 10, 2010

Following a record 40 per cent revenue growth, driven by increased demand for broadcast services on both satellite and online platforms, London-based sister companies Playout247 and Vision IPTV have unveiled a major investment programme in studio and broadcast technology supported by capacity increases.

Four existing studio facilities have been upgraded to HD, and a further two large new HD studios with full virtual set support and robotic cameras, are to be integrated into Playout247’s broadcast TV infrastructure to facilitate original content production. Additionally, an increase in channel capacity will allow Vision IPTV, which is launching a platform that provides existing and new-broadcasters with everything required to deliver commercial broadcasting online, to capitalise on the shift to internet delivered TV.

Chairman of Playout247, Matt Vidmar said: “This investment will double our satellite playout capacity to 60 HD channels and enables us to offer broadcast standard playout and monitoring for up to 200 IPTV channels, each streamed in four bitrates: HD; SD; webcast and mobile.”
