EMP named world’s fastest growing teleport

Europe Media Port (EMP), has been named the world’s fastest growing teleport for the second consecutive year by the World Teleport Association (WTA), the industry’s professional organisation. Europe Media Port partners directly with satellite operators and teleport facilities around the world to provide diverse end-to-end solutions to the satellite service market.

“Europe Media Port was the fastest of the fast for the second year in a row with an impressive 127 per cent growth,” the WTA reported in its release.

“We are delighted to be selected by World Teleport Association as the world’s fastest growing teleport for the second consecutive year with 127 per cent revenue growth. The ‘Fast Twenty of 2010’ award, together with the recently announced deals of O3b & Kahkeshan Digisat fit exactly with our corporate strategy of expanding in both the video & data markets and extending our geographical client reach by offering a value proposition that stays competitive, customized and flexible to the customer needs,” commented Dimitrios Papaharalabos, Head of Sales & Marketing at Europe Media Port.

Papaharalabos added, “We continue investing in new infrastructure, in new products & services across the whole market targeting for an enhanced customer experience. For example, the Nemea teleport in Greece just finished the installation of three new large dishes ranging from 7.2 – 11 meters and already placed an order of more to be delivered in 2011. On the fiber side, recent upgrades are supporting STM-64 & Gigabit Ethernet high speed internet data rates.”
