Washington-based Discovery Communications is reportedly looking at some of German broadcaster ProSieben’s assets. In particular the factual broadcaster is said to be keen to pick up Pro7’s Nordic TV assets. The channels being sold comprise the former broadcasting assets of SBS Broadcasting, acquired by pro7/Sat1 back in 2007.

In a related sale, the favoured bidder for Pro7’s Belgium and Dutch assets (SBS6, Net5 and Veronica) is Finnish media company Sanoma, while RTL Group is reported to be interested in the two Flemish channels broadcast in Belgium.

In particular Pro7’s Nordic TV and radio assets in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark are said to be interesting to Discovery. Swedish broadcasting giant Modern Times Group has also recently confirmed it is interested in certain TV assets.
