TSBc gets contribution boost in Nordic region

June 8, 2011

Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) has confirmed the signing of a key contract with Riks TV, a major TV distributor in the Nordic region, for contribution services that utilise TSBc’s European terrestrial video fibre network.

The network, called MSNW (multi-service network), is a flexible and secure vehicle for the seamless integration of terrestrial- and satellite-based communications. The terrestrial fibre network interconnects with all TSBc’s satellite uplink stations to enable the distribution of global video feeds to the Nordic countries via London.

“The MSNW is designed to provide enhanced scalability, redundancy and flexibility for the delivery of media services”, said Ole Ledang, Director Broadcasting Division at TSBc. “Our established video fibre network is a secure solution providing the service continuity for further terrestrial distribution that is demanded by broadcasters and distributors alike.”
