Wowza Media Systems earns ‘99% Total Satisfaction’ rating in independently certified customer research

September 1, 2011

Wowza Media Systems , the “any screen done right” media server software company, has earned a 99.2 per cent overall satisfaction rating in a recent survey of its customers. San Francisco-based market research firm Power Decisions Group, which referred to the overall combination of responses as “total satisfaction,” independently certified results of the Wowza customer research.

“Satisfied customers are key to Wowza’s success. Each customer — regardless of its size — is of paramount importance to us, and it’s an honor that our customers are overwhelmingly satisfied with Wowza,” said Dave Stubenvoll, CEO and co-founder of Wowza Media Systems. “The results of this research represent a significant achievement, and we will not rest on our laurels. Wowza is committed to ongoing product innovation and improving services to help its existing and future customers confidently build their businesses on Wowza software.”

Wowza conducted this customer research study in June 2011 to better understand product usage, identify customer needs, and explore features that Wowza software users would like to see in future versions of Wowza Media Server. Additionally, the research measured the level of customer satisfaction with the company’s media server software and its customer service overall. The research, which was conducted in six languages, yielded responses from a broad spectrum of customers including broadcasters, developers, educators, faith-based organizations, service providers, enterprises, and more.

Survey respondent James Cunningham, managing director of service provider Streaming Wizard, praised Wowza’s efforts: “We’ve been working with Wowza Media Server software since its early beta release in 2006. Wowza’s customer service is top-notch and the level of passion that the team has in their product is unparalleled. A quick look in the forums and the speed at which questions are answered often begs the question ‘When do these guys sleep?'”

“In addition to the new features, we have been extremely pleased with the rapid turnaround in support. We have been able to get our questions answered quickly, enabling us to find and test solutions specific to our technical environment,” said Steve Course, architect with EuMediaNet BV, which is using Wowza software in its interactive cross-media platform.

Isabelle Benge, senior developer with Wowza partner CDN, StreamUK, commented on the software’s powerful capabilities: “We are very impressed with Wowza’s commitment to delivering market-leading software. Without question, this focus on product development is key in enabling us to continue to meet our customers’ constantly evolving needs.”

Reflecting on customer feedback, Stubenvoll added: “The kind words we get from our customers is a reward that keeps us motivated to deliver great products at great prices, backed by the relentless support for which Wowza is well-known. Outstanding customer satisfaction was important to us from day one, and it continues to be a primary focus as we grow our company.”

Wowza is gearing up for its next chapter by expanding its product line to simplify and enhance any-screen delivery and to produce an even more satisfying experience for Wowza’s customers and their audiences. At IBC2011, Sept. 9-13, visitors will see Wowza Media Server 3 in action — the company’s next-generation platform for high-value features and services that provides a foundation for organizations of any size to offer their viewers the best possible experience when and where they want it.
