Jazztel distributes Prisa TV online
September 23, 2011
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Media group Prisa TV, owner of digital DTH platform and Canal Plus with 1.7 million pay-TV subscribers, and telco Jazztel have made an alliance to distribute online TV content through its high speed ADSL service with 1 million clients.
The joint service will be launching in the last quarter of the year with the distribution of the premium content from pay TV channel Canal Plus. Cinema, TV series, music concerts, documentaries and sports (Spanish Football League, Europe Football League, UK’s Premier and NBA Basketball championship) will be available through Jazztel’s ADSL service.
The move is another of Prisa TV’s steps to reshuffle its digital TV business at a time when Spanish pay-TV market has reached a deadlock with all companies losing pay-TV subs.
