ERA showcases new automated workflow and collaborative editing solutions at BVE 2012

January 9, 2012

ERA Ltd, an IT infrastructure and application reseller specialising in Post Production, Broadcast and Media, will showcase its latest multi-client workflow automation solution and launch a new cost-effective platform for secure collaborative editing at Broadcast VideoExpo, Earls Court 2, London, 14-16 February 2012 (Stand K54).

ERA MediaFlow is an enterprise-class multi-client workflow automation solution that allows broadcasters and post-production companies to effectively control media assets, projects and resources, both technical and human – all through a single platform. Resilient, reliable, scalable and feature-rich, ERA MediaFlow helps identify and eliminate bottlenecks in even the most complex workflow.  At BVE 2012, the team will demonstrate how ERA MediaFlow, through a web-based interface, lets users access and collaborate on their content, invoke workflows and interact with clients in reviews and approvals from wherever they are.

Also on show will be ERA MediaEdit, the company’s new platform for secure collaborative editing. Powered by CandIT Media WARP storage and with FilmPartners’ MXFServer at its core, ERA MediaEdit is designed to enable editing workgroups to share and manage virtualised project files securely, with guaranteed high performance and minimal infrastructure costs. The entry-level configuration supports up to eight clients of Avid, Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere, expands in easy steps, with multi-format ingest from multiple devices, including sixteen simultaneous streams of DNxHD and integration with EVS. It has been designed to run over Gigabit Ethernet keeping infrastructure costs low and provides a cost-effective scale-up-and-out path should editing requirements grow.

ERA MediaEdit enableseffective secure management of data and user rights for shared projects, with bin-locking functionality to prevent files or sequences being accidentally overwritten or deleted. It also optimises overall operational performance by allowing both the virtualisation of growing files – Edit Whilst Capture – and the direct ingest of media files from any source into projects without starting up the NLE – freeing up edit suite capacity and making operations more efficient and agile.

“Our clients face the daily challenge of delivering more for less – both in terms of time and money. ERA MediaFlow and ERA MediaEdit have been developed to address the market need for entry-level workflow solutions, based on open architecture, combining flexibility and guaranteed performance with affordable scalability” says Sean Baker, ERA Technical Director. “We are excited to demonstrate how these solutions will enable media companies to handle more jobs, more effectively, with more speed and with less error – freeing up valuable creative resources to do what they do best and securing real strategic advantage in today’scompetitive market.”
