January 26, 2012

Not to be confused with the similarly-named IP Vision, which announced January 26th that it had appointed administrators, IPTV service provider Vision IPTV has merged with sister companies to form VISION247.

The combination unites four sister companies: Vision IPTV in the provision of IPTV services, Playout247 in providing broadcast services, Soho Data Centre in providing Data Centre services and Connexion Broadcast in providing worldwide content distribution through hotels and cable networks.

The company suggests that with the units together, it is uniquely positioned to provide broadcasters, TV channels, production companies and content owners with the most comprehensive set of solutions available to manage, deliver and monetise content across traditional broadcast platforms such as satellite and the new world of OTT, Internet delivered broadcast.

The resulting services portfolio will include studio and playout facilities with full 24/7 MCR and connectivity to wide range of teleports and data centres, TV and VoD IP portal solutions including Tier 1 broadcast quality CDN, App development for OTT platforms and IP-connected devices such as TVs, STBs, mobiles, PC’s and tablets and worldwide content distribution to hotels and cable networks. The combined company will operate under the name VISION247 and be headquartered in London.
