Spirit DSP receives 2011 Internet Telephony Product of the Year Award

January 27, 2012

Spirit DSP, the voice and video over IP engines provider, has announced that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named Spirit’s product VideoMost.com  a recipient of the 2011 Internet Telephony Product of the Year Award.

VideoMost.com is massively multi-point, web-based videoconferencing software product targeted for licensing to carriers and service providers as a white-labeled branded service. VideoMost.com is based on Spirit DSP’s video engine for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS clients and Windows or Linux-based video conferencing servers. The software embraces SSpirit’s highly scalable H.264SVC video codec and HD voice IP-MRTM wideband voice codec (IETF RFC 6262), enabling HD voice and multi-party video calling. The multi-point video software works on connections from 512 Kbps, providing up to 30 fps HD 720p and supports an unprecedented 1000 concurrent video channels per single $4,000 PC server. VideoMost uses standard  internet access, microphone and speakers, and webcams. It needs no registration, allowing participants to start a call instantly, unlike hardware systems that require specially equipped meeting rooms. SPIRIT software automatically adapts video quality to bandwidth and processor power available and also includes 3D avatars, desktop sharing, conference moderation and more.

“We are pleased that VideoMost has been recognized by Internet Telephony for its innovation and ability to push web-videoconferencing software to the masses,” said Slava Borilin, Spirit DSP’s VP Products. “Server-based managed and secure VideoMost is positioned as a MSO service for corporate usage, unlike Skype, and easily integrates with corporate portals, emails and calendars, unlike other stand-alone videoconferencing solutions. With VideoMost, carriers can start their own SaaS videoconferencing service overnight, integrate it with their collaboration/eLearning offerings, and promote it to their subscribers under their brand and billing service, bundled with internet-access packages, and effectively compete against OTT providers like Skype and Google.”

“I am happy to grant Spirit DSP with a Product of the Year Award. The editors of Internet Telephony have verified that VideoMost.com displays quality and innovation plus provides real solutions in the marketplace,” stated Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “I would like to congratulate the entire team at Spirit DSP for their commitment to advancing IP communication technologies.”

2011 Product of the Year winners are published in the January/February 2012 issue of Internet Telephony magazine, (www.itmag.com). Internet Telephony has been the authority in IP communication since 1998.
