TV Brazil to launch English channel

April 10, 2012

By Chris Forrester

State-backed TV Brazil is to add an English-language showcase channel for overseas audiences. The intention is for the new international channel to help promote Brazil to foreign audiences. Launch date is planned for late 2013/early 2014.

As well as home-produced ‘foreign’ content, the channel will add factual content and subtitled movies. TV Brazil is already available internationally (especially in Africa), and the new service will target major overseas markets and also local Latino countries. Africa is also mentioned specifically as a desirable outlet for the channel.
