FXUK boosts BT Vision’s linear slate

April 11, 2012

Following earlier deals to add linear channels to its BT Vision IPTV service, the operator has added a fourth linear channel in a fortnight by signing a contract to stream the popular FX UK service.

BT Vision customers will soon be able to watch FX hit shows such as zombie drama The Walking Dead and cult vampire smash True Blood. Other top-rated shows include Spielberg-produced Falling Skies and serial killer series Dexter.

As well as being able to watch all the shows live on FXUK, BT Vision customers will also be able to watch many of the top shows, up to seven days after transmission on-demand. They will also be able to watch library programmes on-demand.

FXUK will launch on BT Vision later in 2012.  BT Vision Unlimited subscribers can also look forward to the first two series of The Walking Dead which will be coming on-demand to BT Vision later in the year.

Marc Watson, CEO, BT Vision, said that linear channels took BT Vision to another level and offered customers the chance to catch the shows live or play them on-demand.

Jason Thorp EVP Content Europe and MD UK Africa, Fox International Channels UK, noted that shows such as The Walking Dead, True Blood, Dexter, NCIS, Family Guy and Eastbound & Down had seen the channel’s performance soar in recent months with over eight million viewers tuning in across March.  “It’s the perfect addition to BT’s already impressive channel line-up,” he suggested.

FX UK will be available as part of a subscription or on a pay-per-view basis.
