TV Without Boundaries initiative from Chello DMC

April 11, 2012

Advanced playout and content management solutions provider Chello DMC has announced ‘TV without Boundaries’, a year-long, industry-wide initiative to explore effective international TV channel strategies.

The initiative centres on panel and networking events, news and comment throughout the year. The first event will be held later in April in Madrid, with Budapest scheduled to host the second event in October. Content from TV without Boundaries will be available online on www.chellodmc.com and through Twitter @ChelloDMC. The official Twitter hashtag is #ChelloTV12.

TV Without Boundaries invites senior executives from the international broadcast industry to tackle the challenges and opportunities of delivering localised TV channels in an international market. Four key themes to be explored are: The future of translation services, subtitles and language tracks; How to best introduce new feeds to local markets; The best mix of distribution over fibre and satellite; and the optimum commercial reasons for going into new markets

The Madrid event will take place on Thursday 26th April at Hotel Urban from 16.30hrs onwards. Confirmed panellists include advanced-television.com correspondent David Del Valle, who will moderate the event, together with representatives of Chello Multicanal, Antena 3 Group, Wuaki, and ONO.

Jon Try, VP Technology at Chello DMC, said the initiative would bring the key players from all over Europe together to discuss the challenges, opportunities and new developments for effective international TV channel strategies. “We are extremely excited to be backing this programme and hope that the initiative and resultant findings will identify the paths to successfully navigate through a highly competitive market,” he added.
