Intelsat announces executive appointments

Intelsat S.A., the world’s leading provider of satellite services, has announced that Peter Ostapiuk has been appointed Vice President of Media Product Management, and Mark Rasmussen has been named Regional Vice President of North American Sales.

In his new role, Ostapiuk will be responsible for implementing product strategies for Intelsat’s media business. He has more than 17 years of industry experience, and joined Intelsat in October 2008.  Previously, he served as the Regional Vice President of North America Media Services for Intelsat, responsible for leading U.S., international and IntelsatONE account strategies and growth for our key U.S. media customers.

Prior to Intelsat, he worked at Cisco Systems/Scientific Atlanta, where he managed the company’s U.S. and Canadian sales efforts. Ostapiuk has a Master of International Business Management degree from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado.

In his new position, Rasmussen will lead the sales efforts for all of Intelsat’s North American network services and media businesses. Previously, he served as Regional Vice President of Sales at Intelsat, focused solely on the company’s network services efforts. Rasmussen has an excellent track record of bringing innovative solutions to global providers and users of satellite services.

Prior to joining Intelsat in 2004, he managed channel and enterprise sales activities at Spacenet, and strategic account sales and sales management at Mentor Graphics and IBM. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
