New media and video technology company Vidunix – which counts senior management from competitor KIT digital among its founders – has set out its market positioning and confirmed that it is committed to the Czech Republic and growing its global operations headquarters in Prague.

Vidunix has been launched as a “fresh new player on the market” with the vision of enabling content owners to extend easily and monetise content across the Internet to all popular devices and social platforms, and to connect to new audiences. Vidunix has been founded as a private company, with a view to offering customers a truly different customer-centric, innovative experience without the burden of a public company undergoing massive transformation or chasing market expectations

Derek McKellar, formerly Vice President of Client Services and Ondrej Matejka, formerly Director of Global Customer Support at KIT Djgital, are joining Vidunix as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer respectively. Announcements on additional roles are expected in upcoming weeks.

“Over the last few months, we have seen what seem to be a geographic focus shift with our competitors and related businesses who are based in Czech Republic, together with right sizing efforts that are freeing up talented and experienced video technology human capital.” said McKellar. “We are keen to capitalise on this opportunity and grow our team. We are committed to Czech Republic, the business environment, the highly skilled resources and to serve our clients globally from a cost effective and very central location.”

Vidunix is currently in the process of securing additional Prague office space that is in line with its organic growth strategy.
