August 20, 2012

IBC anticipates over 50,000 attendees with over 14 exhibition halls of new technology developments from more than 1,300 global exhibitors. In 2012, attendees will involve themselves in all that IBC has to offer including the IBC Production Village where attendees can get to grips with production issues and get up close and personal with the latest in camera technology. In the Workflow Solutions Village: dedicated to file-based technologies and including a practical demonstration of tapeless production in action from the IBC TV News team; IBC Big Screen: showing the latest advances in cinema technology with state-of-the-art facilities encompassing 2K, 4K and Stereoscopic 3D digital projection, and audio presented in 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound.

Meanwhile, international recording artist, technologist, entrepreneur, will.i.am, has chosen the IBC2012 Conference as a key platform to inspire the world’s electronic media professionals. Co-hosted by Intel Corporation’s Johan Jervøe, will.i.a.m will lead the IBC2012 Convention keynote.

Titled ‘Creativity and Technology Forces Combine – Transcend the Barriers of Convention and Rethink What Can Be Achieved’, this thought-provoking session will examine the role of technology in the creative process. Illustrated with personal stories and illustrations from their careers, it will show how the application of new technology can be a catalyst for new thinking and positive change and be key to surmounting barriers.

“We want people to rethink what they believe is possible,” says will.i.am. “I’m always thinking about tomorrow. What are the new beats? What is the new music? What will people like? What will we be capable of doing? Technology allows us to amplify our ideas, amplify our creativity, and find new ways of solving our problems and genuinely start living in those future tomorrows, and that’s what I want to share at IBC.”
