PHXX, a platform development company with expertise in over-the-top video, new media and gaming, has partnered with MBC to deploy the Reach OTT platform on Shahid.net, which will distribute Arab content and services to millions through the web portal and iPad application.
The partnership will test the platform’s capabilities as the extremely popular Shahid.net video-on-demand portal and devices begin migrating services to the Reach OTT Platform in the fourth quarter of 2012

Shahid.net, part of MBC Group, is the largest free video-on-demand portal in the Arab world, allowing viewers to access most of the region’s top TV shows and series. By leveraging the Reach OTT platform, MBC Group can provide new premium video services to the millions of dedicated users that access Shahid.net every month.
This is not the first time PHXX and MBC Group have collaborated. Last year, PHXX developed the infrastructure to launch the new Shahid.net web portal in three months prior to Ramadan 2011. The web portal generated more than 43 million page views to more than 2.7 million individuals in 193 countries during just the month of August – the height of Ramadan. The portal popularity extended well beyond the host county – with Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the US and Canada being top destinations.
