BT signs BBC’s Humphrey to front Premier League

September 18, 2012

BT has signed up BBC presenter Jake Humphrey to anchor its coverage of Premier League football, starting next season.

Humphrey, who recently presented part of the BBC’s London 2012 Olympic coverage but is best known for fronting Formula One, has signed a four-year contract with BT starting in January.

The 33-year old will be on a £250,000-plus annual salary and a four year contract. Humphrey will also be involved in other football programming that BT Vision airs.

A spokesman for BT said the deal was not exclusive and that Humphrey could continue to work for the BBC outside of his contract period.

“I’ve grown up at the BBC, and whilst I hope to work with them in the future, I’d also like to place on record my thanks to them,” said Humphrey, who came up through the ranks as a presenter at the corporation.
