Bazuca has launched the next version of its OTT video service with Avail-TVN. Bazuca is a subsidiary of Chilean cable operator, VTR, a Liberty Global company.

Bazuca will extend the video offering to include Subscription VoD (SVOD) services for television and studio content, music, children’s programming, and events.  Avail-TVN is providing licensing, content preparation, metadata management, content delivery, and marketing and promotional support, as well as integrating with Bazuca’s CDN and DRM solutions.  Together, Bazuca and Avail-TVN are offering content from the major U.S. studios for new release and library titles and partnering with local market content providers to deliver regional favorites, and making content available on both a Transactional VoD (TVOD) and SVOD basis.  Avail-TVN’s AnyView Content multiplatform service will provide content in multiple adaptive bitrate (ABR) formats, in SD, HD and 3D, optimizing video streaming on any type of device.

“Bazuca continues to innovate and deliver new types of services to connected consumers throughout Latin America,” said Mauricio Ramos, president, Liberty Global Latin America. “Working with Avail-TVN provides the access to content and marketing expertise that will drive continued growth.”

“Bazuca extends our important relationship with Liberty Global and represents the newest type of customer for Avail-TVN:  online video services that provide compelling and complementary services to traditional paid video offerings,” said Ramu Potarazu, chief executive officer at Avail-TVN.  “In addition to providing core services like securing pan-regional rights to content, preparing and managing data, and marketing content packages, we’re also streaming content in multiple formats to a variety of viewing devices. Consumers are demanding flexibility in how, when, and where they enjoy their favorite programming, and cable-class OTT services like Bazuca are delivering on that promise.”
