The Social Media Channel of Italian mobile operator 3 Italia (available on Sky Italia, on 3 Italia tablets and smart phones, and in streaming on the internet) has made a major step forward towards convergence between TV and the Internet.

This week, La3 will air all episodes of “Fashion Sisters”, a format dedicated to fashion, in Second Screen mode, allowing viewers to enjoy extra content in a new way.

Users will just have to download the free app for smart phones and tablets called HyperSync, available on Google Play and soon on the Apple Store.

Once launched, HyperSync syncs directly with the broadcast, putting the user at the heart of the interactive experience via a tablet or a smartphone that becomes the Second Screen. With HyperSync, the viewer can access content and additional information, such as where to buy what is featured in the episode, browse interactive maps, respond to polls, participate in discussions on social networks and share the content on Facebook and Twitter.

Over the coming weeks, La3 plans to extend the Second Screen to other formats and programmes.
