NBC and CNN win US Election night

US Election night gathered some 66.8 million viewers according to ratings agency Nielsen – down 6 per cent on 2008 (which peaked at 71.5 million).

The 66.8 million were spread across all the main US networks and cable news channels.

Of the main networks NBC won the night with 12.1 million viewers, followed by cable broadcaster Fox News with an average of 11.5 million. ABC averaged 10.5 million viewers, and 4th position went to CNN with 9.3 million.
