Brazil’s version of Big Brother (‘Gran Hermano’) will be telecast in HD and 3D. Both technologies are a ‘first’ for the show’s Brazilian version.

The series, the 13th in Brazil, will air in January 2013. Moreover, the 24-hour coverage (available on PPV) will be in 3D.

The show might also be creating a record for the most 3D cameras covering a single event. Rede Globo, the show’s broadcaster, is buying 25 Panasonic 3D cameras to cover events in the Big Brother house. Additionally, 50 HD cameras will cover the action.

TV Globo’s previous 3D main coverage was of the Rio carnival earlier this year when it used just 4 cameras.
