Sky makes iPhone remote control

November 13, 2012

Sky has launched an update to the Sky+ app that transforms the iPhone and iPod touch devices into a remote control, following these features being introduced on iPad earlier this year.

The latest update to the Sky+ app for iPhone means viewers can now use the app to change channels as they watch live TV, and pause, play and rewind TV with a simple swipe or tap of their finger on the screen of their phone. The app now also offers Sky TV customers full access to their Sky+ planner through their iPhone, meaning that viewers can browse all their existing recordings on their Sky+HD set-top box, as well as set up and delete recordings on their planner.

All Sky customers need to do to access the latest extra features is connect their Sky+HD box to the same WiFi network as their iOS device. Sky customers are already able to enjoy the remote control function and access to their Sky+ planner on iPad, and the new features will be coming to Android handsets in the coming months.
