TopTV wins expansion opportunity

TopTV is South Africa’s David to Multichoice’s Goliath in terms of pay-TV. That might be about to change somewhat, with a fresh deal between TopTV and the nation’s First National Bank (FNB).

FNB has now launched a pre-pay payment card option for TopTV. Clients can buy into TopTV’s various bundles of channels from rates as low as Rand 109 (about $12) to the premium bouquet for $40, both of which covers one month of viewing but requires no long-term commitment.

FNB already offers a mobile subscription phone and internet banking, and the options are available from FNB’s web-site.

SES uplinks most of TopTV’s channels from Munich using SES Platform Services.
