Singularity VoD Store launches with Domino’s

November 28, 2012

A new specialist VoD store is now available from the Digital Innovation Group (DIG), a full-service digital group with a focus on video delivery to TVs, tablets and other connected devices in the UK. The VoD store platform, called Singularity, is specially optimised for studios wishing to make movie provision more accessible to those brands wanting to bring good movie content to their customers.

The cloud-based platform can work in conjunction with studios existing CDNs and video platforms and includes a variety of payment, vouchering and subscription business models and financial reconciliation to a per stream usage level. Importantly it features a master catalogue management solution tailored around a studio’s specific meta-data and work-flow processes and with the flexibility to activate movies around an increasingly complex release and rights windows.

Currently launched with secure streaming, the platform will embrace a variety of DRMs and ultimately Ultraviolet download-to-own options. Films can be viewed via computers, tablets and mobile devices with plans for integration with Smart TV’s and games consoles in early 2013 using the Suggested TV framework from Easel TV (another DIG company).

The platform was most recently used by Domino’s Pizza for the provision of their Pizza Box Office service which now offers major titles along with a customer’s pizza on a 48-hour streaming rental. The movies become available on the Dominos service when they release into the transactional VoD window, often many months before they are available on subscriptions services such as LoveFilm and NetFlix.
