Samsung Electronics is to introduce its all-new ‘Smart Hub’ at home electronics exhibition CES 2013 in Las Vegas this upcoming January 8th.

A post on the company’s Global Tomorrow Blog describes Smart Hub as a unique content platform for Samsung Smart TV, with an updated design of the initial screen for the users to enjoy not only live broadcasts but also a variety of contents such as movies, apps, and personal photos easily and conveniently on one screen.

According to the company, in 2013, users can look to Smart Hub for a more intuitive experience with various contents, live TV broadcasts, VoD, apps, Internet and such like. All this content will be available on one screen divided into five sections, each holding a spot for a different category.

The five categories are ‘On TV’ for live TV, ‘Movies & TV Shows’ based on VoD content, ‘Apps’ for various applications, ‘Social’ for SNS contents sharing function, ‘ Photos, Videos & Music’ for personal contents.

Samsung suggests that one of the most anticipated features is the ‘Flipping’ function that allows browsing through the five screens with Samsung’s unique motion control function. “It might remind you of flipping through the pages of a book, and it provides you an easy way to select your programme of choice more easily and with more fun. Just by accessing Smart Hub, you can enjoy all the contents of live TV, movie, Internet, and games all in one place,” says the company.
