VidTrans 2013 announces preliminary program

January 18, 2013

The preliminary program has been announced for the VidTrans 2013 Annual Technical Conference and Exposition. This event will be held at the Marina del Rey Marriott, February 26-February 28, 2013. This year’s conference will feature twenty technical papers plus a not-to-be-missed panel discussion that will explore the “future of professional media connectivity”.

Highlighted paper topics include two presentations on High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), a presentation about deterministic media switching in IP networks and a presentation on optimizing transcoding throughput of file-based workflows. An optional pre-conference tutorial session entitled “HTTP Video Streaming” will provide a focused look at the new and evolving technologies that are being used to deliver video to smartphones and other devices today.

In addition to technical sessions, the conference also showcases some of the latest  applications, technologies and products in its exhibit hall from leading manufacturers of video transport and testing equipment and software. The exhibition features an opening night reception on Tuesday, February 26.  An Interop Demonstration of SMPTE ST 2022-5/6:2012 and Hitless Protection Switching will also be publicly displayed in the exhibit hall. The exhibits and Interop will be open Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 26- 27.

With a great location on the West Coast in early 2013, VidTrans provides an ideal  venue for local television professionals to see the latest technologies in person.

VidTrans13 Conference will also include special social events, providing attendees the opportunity to interact with colleagues and industry peers.
