Amlogic, PlayJam bring Android Games Network to TV

March 28, 2013

Amlogic, the specialists in providing embedded solutions to the TV industry, and PlayJam have announced a strategic alliance to extend the reach of the PlayJam Games Network through the Amlogic ecosystem.

The agreement will see PlayJam integrate the same Android Games Network that delivers content to GameStick – its recently launched micro-games console with Amlogic’s System-on-Chip, (SoC), family thereby providing hardware manufacturers with a ready to go, white-labeled, games solution.

Michael Mo, Senior Director of Business Development at Amlogic says “Games are going to become a major part of the next wave of consumer TV devices. Games are the No 1 app on mobiles and tablets, and PlayJam’s experience in smart TV shows the big screen is no different. If you haven’t got games in the mix you are simply not going to get the level of customer engagement you need to win. PlayJam is a clear leader in this space and we’re delighted to partner with them.”

Jasper Smith, CEO of PlayJam says “Our ambition is to scale our network as far and wide as possible through partner alliances such as this. Doing so allows us to offer our developers the biggest distribution network possible whether it be via our own hardware – GameStick or 3rd party devices from Smart TV and set top boxes to the dedicated Android gaming consoles we expect to see enter the market over the coming months.”
