Croatian mobile telephony operator Vipnet has launched a DTH service branded Vip Sat TV, offering 44 TV channels in the Basic package and an additional 26 TV channels in the Extended package.

The move follows the acquisition, in March this year, of full ownership of Digi TV, one of the first providers of pay-TV services via satellite in Croatia.

Several subscription options are available – without obligation, for 12 or 24 months. If the service is activated without signing a contract, the monthly fee for the Basic package is HRK 78.50 (€10.35), while the Extended package will be free of charge for a year. When signing a 12-month contract, subscribers get a 50 per cent discount on the Basic package and free Extended package, paying HRK 39.25 (€5.17) per month.

Customers opting for a 24-month contract, also receive a 50 per cent discount on the Basic package and 12 months free use of the Extended package, paying HRK 39.25 for the first 12 months and HRK 118.50 (€15.63) for the remaining 12 months (HRK 78.50 for the Basic and HRK 40.00 for the Extended package).

In addition, seven new TV channels will be added to the platform during May and they will be free of charge until the end of December. The channels in question are: HTV 3, HTV 4, Nickelodeon, FOX, FOX Life, Cinestar, and Cinestar Action & Thriller.

The Vip Sat TV package is transmitted via the Intelsat 10-02 satellite, located at 1°W.
