June 4, 2013
SMIT Corporation, a leading provider of security devices for digital content delivery, releases the industry’s advanced Irdeto Cardless CI+ 1.3 CAM (Conditional Access Module) to help pay-TV operators cutting costs and improving operation efficiency.
Irdeto Cardless CI+ 1.3 CAM integrates the latest Irdeto Cloaked CA system and conforms to Irdeto’s latest Security Requirements. The new product allows the subscribers to watch encrypted TV programmes without smart card while ensuring the carrier’s secure transmission. By skipping CAM pairing process with the smart card, the operator’s costs are minified and the user experience is enhanced. Meanwhile, it is fully compatible with CI+ 1.3 standard and keeps backward compatibility.
“Plustelka”, a Slovakia DVB-T operator’s pay DTT platform, will be the first pay-TV platform in which the CAM is introduced. Subscribers of “Plustelka” with a DVB-T iDTV can directly purchase it and enjoy 22 sets of encoded TV programmes including professional sports, music, movie and adult channels with no need for smart cards. “Irdeto Cardless CI+ 1.3 CAM provides operators with a more economical and safe choice, and also brings more convenience to subscribers of digital TV service.” Stephen He, SMiT Executive Vice President said.
