London Live hires F1’s Balcombe

ESTV has appointed Formula One Management’s Technology Strategist as Technology Director for its London Live channel. Balcombe will be responsible for building pioneering technology that will support London Live’s cross-platform media initiatives.

Balcombe, who started his career at Lotus, Bugatti and Fiat, has developed globally patented and replicated wireless systems for Formula 1 and has been involved in F1’s media technology strategy since the beginning. He recently led the development of its Global Media Network in collaboration with Tata Communications and has also guided developments at Formula One Management from analogue to digital, and from SD to HD.

Bryn will join a recently appointed management team that includes: MD at The Independent and London Evening Standard Andrew Mullins as CEO; former Executive Director at Carat and Chief Executive at Loot Tim Kirkman as COO; former i editor Stefano Hatfield as Editorial Director; former BSkyB/Sky news commissioning editor Vikki Cookas Head of News & Current Affairs; former Chief Executive of Current TV Jane Moteas Launch Programme Director.
