SMIT to provide Ziggo with advanced CI+ 1.3 VoD CAM

July 12, 2013

Ziggo, the leading cable operator in the Netherlands and SMIT – the leading CAM (Conditional Access Module) provider – have teamed-up to offer subscribers the industrial advanced CI+ 1.3 VoD CAM which enables the viewers to watch their favorite programs. In combination with an advanced TV-set and adjustments in the Ziggo network they also can enjoy the VoD service without STB.

With the SMIT CI+ 1.3 VoD CAM, Ziggo subscribers can experience more interactive services in an easier way. This new product is fully compatible with CI+ 1.3 standards, and maintains backwards compatibility. While enhancing the security level through the CI+1.3 protocol which defines several new interactive service features, SMIT CI+ 1.3 VoD CAM also has built-in MHEG-5 application providing smoother overlay display with less resource occupancy.

SMIT will start to deliver Ziggo this VoD CAM in July.

“SMIT CI+ 1.3 VoD CAM is tailored for operator’s interactive services, and it brings subscribers a better viewing experience. It is a pleasure to work with Ziggo to offer this high-demanding and cutting-edge product.” Mr. Stephen He, SMiT Executive Vice President said.
