TSL’s ‘StudioExpert’ business exceeds turnover target within three months

July 17, 2013

TSL has reported unprecedented success with the launch of its new company, StudioExpert Ltd. Since its formation in March 2013 the new business has already exceeded its first year’s turnover target.

“These days it’s not just the traditional broadcasters that need studios”, explains David Phillips, Managing Director, TSL Systems.  “There is an ever-increasing list of organisations that are producing TV and Audio content as part of their everyday marketing and communication activitieswith an opportunity to generate new revenue streams.  They need high quality, cost-effective facilities that are designed by the most experienced and commercially-savvy studio experts in the business to allow them to get their content online or on air on time and on budget.  StudioExpert was created specifically to meet their needs as well as those of niche.”

StudioExpert offers a complete service from initial design to full implementation, and includes training and support provided by highly experienced broadcast individuals.  Its driving force and General Manager is Peter Knowles who spent 13 years as a BBC Senior Sound Supervisor before starting his own Broadcast Facilities, Sales and Systems Integration business in 1996.

“Peter and his colleague Andy Jones have pioneered a refreshing new communication approach which is designed to make is easy for potential customers to understand all the different options that are open to them and their relative merits”, Phillips continued.

Knowles attributes the company’s success to the fact that it is peopled by experts at every level: “The name StudioExpert was not chosen by accident”, he says.  “Everyone in our business is an expert in their own field, and that allows us not only to bring immense experience to the party but also the promise that if there is a smarter, more cost effective way of doing something, we’ll put it forward.  We aim to augment and endorse our customers’ own skills by walking with them every step of the way from design to reality – and beyond.  By establishing a partnership that lasts long after our customer’s project has been completed we’re often able to provide contacts or elements of production know-how that can improve or enhance their business going forward”.

TSL believes that the new initiative will continue to excel in today’s ultra-competitive commercial environment thanks to a business model that is both lean and highly focused.  It cites the creation of StudioExpert as being a significant part of TSL Systems’ overall strategy to develop new business streams and emerging markets in order to counteract the effects of the economic downturn.

Phillips concludes: “The addition of StudioExpert allows TSL as a group to meet the needs of a broader spectrum of customers, markets and projects – from the smallest to the largest.”
