Aston Villa FC signs Base79

Base79, the online video company and the largest YouTube partner outside North America, has confirmed a deal with UK football club, Aston Villa FC to manage their video content on YouTube at both a global and local level. The deal will enable Aston Villa to effectively monetise its online video content on the largest global video platform, as well as continue to build audiences and drive viewing. Base79 will also support Aston Villa’s programming strategy, using its experience in original content creation and audience understanding to deliver a range of videos that will help fans around the world connect with the club.

Base79 will optimise Aston Villa’s official YouTube channel, maximising revenue from its content through digital video syndication, premium international and local advertising sales, and advanced rights management of all official Aston Villa video content on the Google’s video platform. The Premier League club currently has around 4,000 subscribers on YouTube.
