TDF to power delivery of Cirkus SVoD service

BeBanjo and Cognacq-Jay Image (both part of TDF Media Services) will be providing a fully integrated service to power Cirkus, the new SVoD service that will bring the best of British Drama, Comedy & Factual TV series to pay TV platform operators, initially in the Nordic territory.

Cirkus’ SVoD service brings together a fantastic catalogue of premium British content sourced from ITV Global Entertainment, BBC Worldwide and All3Media International and will be available to TV viewers via cable, IPTV, and connected DTT in Sweden from December 1st this year.

Cirkus turned to BeBanjo and Cognacq-Jay Image to meet the challenge of publishing all their licensed content to multiple platforms in a secure, efficient and automated fashion. The BeBanjo products will help Cirkus to schedule all licensed content across multiple platforms and territories, transform and publish metadata to each platform and track all the content processing workflow from the moment the materials are received until they are made available to end consumers.

Cognacq-Jay Image’s Media Factory, fully integrated with BeBanjo products, will be the engine performing all of the content processing, including encoding, transcoding and subtitle insertion.

“As a start-up business, we are not faced with the legacy issues so many media owners struggle with in designing and implementing the optimal workflow for our business. As such, we were keen to take advantage of this, and partner with an industry leader to develop a ‘gold standard’ solution for Cirkus that would scale with our business. We are delighted to have found that partner in TDF Media Services”, says Mark Bradford, Co-Founder & Director at Cirkus.

“Cirkus is a new and exciting proposition and we are delighted to help bringing it to life” said Jorge Gómez Sancha, Founder & Managing Director of BeBanjo. “It also provides the type of challenge where our products shine: lots of content from multiple sources and in multiple formats that needs to be efficiently packaged and delivered to multiple platforms”.
