Liberty mails remotes ‘to fix’ Horizon
September 19, 2013
Liberty Global’s UPC operations that have implemented its Horizon DVR are mailing 270,000+ remotes to accompany a firmware and software upgrade for version one aimed at debugging the system.
Liberty’s Peter Dorr, managing director, strategic marketing, sales and customer care, told CTAM in Barcelona it would have been naïve to think such a system could be launched problem free. He said the operator had learned from customer feedback. The main complaints were that navigation was too slow, not enough short cuts, difficult to back-up and the UI is intrusive.
More positively, Dorr said Liberty Global will also launch a new Horizon box aimed at second TVs that connects to the main Horizon device wirelessly.
