SMiT and Verimatrix partner on advanced CI+ CAM

SMiT, the operation platform provider for secure distribution of paid content and Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services, have formed a collaboration aimed at integrating SMiT’s Advanced Security CI+ 1.3 CAM with the Verimatrix ViewRight client library.
The CI+ 1.3 CAM will be a cardless product integrating Verimatrix’s highest level of client security technology. With the CAM, end-users can watch encrypted TV programmes with no need for a smart card, and operators will minimise their costs by skipping the CAM-smart card pairing process while ensuring a highly secure transmission. Additionally, it fully complies with the CI+ 1.3 standard to support rich interactive features such as hybrid VoD, catch-up TV, parent control, etc.
The Verimatrix Advanced Security CAM has already ignited great interest in the market, with customers from the EMEA and APAC regions frequently inquiring about the details. Consumers can purchase this new product in Q4 2013.
