Expanded bandwidth multi-tap 1.2 GHz by Antronix

October 10, 2013

Antronix has announced its current Milenium series MGT multi-taps have been extended to a frequency range of 1.2 GHz via proprietary technology enhancements.  All current and future Milenium MGT2000-SE series video multi-taps and faceplates incorporate this enhanced technology and will extend the available frequency range by 200 MHz, surpassing the current industry standard of 1.0 GHz currently available from other multi-tap suppliers.

“The bandwidth extension we achieved will provide a critical bridge for Cable System operators looking to capitalise on enhanced services that require more spectrum. Regardless of installation approach (phased-in or stepped approach) the new 1.2 GHz multi-tap will allow Cable Operators to control costs while increasing spectrum to offer additional data and video services to ensure Cable Operators hold their lead over all competing communications platforms.

Financially, the new 1.2 GHz multi-tap is a win-win. The 1.2 GHz performance has been implemented as a discreet upgrade to our current MGT series product offering without any increase in cost, thus not affecting customer budgeted spend dollars and moreover avoiding costly re-splicing while maintaining the same form factor.  The 1.2 GHz multi-tap is completely backwards compatible with the legacy 1.0 GHz MGT series multi-taps.   We believe this is a significant technological development and the most cost effective solution available on the market today,” said Neil Tang, President, Antronix, Inc.
