Liberty plans full takeover of Ziggo

Liberty Global is planning a complete takeover of Dutch cable firm Ziggo, according to reports in Germany, despite Chief Executive Mike Fries recent statement he was content with the group’s strategic stake in the firm.
Liberty Global, which already has a 28.5 per cent stake, is planning to merge the group with its existing UPC operations in the country and Belgian firm Telenet in which it already has a majority stake.
