Musician Peter Gabriel has been busy this week performing his 25th Anniversary Back to Front show at London’s 02 Arena, and the event has been captured by production companies Done & Dusted, Real World and ERP Productions in 4K/Ultra-HDTV.

The production team used 10 Sony F55 cameras to video the event in 4K. Eight Sony F55 cameras were used to capture the show’s first night, and the second show was covered by 10 cameras. The end result will be a movie for release next year.

“With live events becoming as much about the overall spectacle as the music itself, production teams and artists are continually striving to push new audio and visual boundaries in creative performance,” explained David Bush, Marketing Director, Sony Europe.

The production has been hailed as a world first by some. This is not quite correct. Serpent Productions’ captured UK rock band Muse at an arena show in Rome in August with 16 Sony F55 cameras, including the first use of a F55 on a SpiderCam, and all in 4K.
