Italian DTH platform TivùSat has reached the milestone of two million active smart cards, a little more than four years after its launch.
If users who own more than one smart card are taken into account, the number of households with a TivùSat decoder is 1.68 million.
The penetration rate of the DTH platform is highest in Calabria, with 14 per cent of households, followed by Liguria and Molise (13 per cent), Valle d’Aosta (12 per cent), Basilicata (11 per cent) and Sicily (10 per cent).
Currently, 63 TV channels and 30 radio stations are available on TivùSat: among these, all the Rai and Mediaset channels, La7, Real Time and DMax (Discovery), Cielo (Sky Italia), Deejay TV (L’Espresso group), TV2000, the channels of the Class group, shopping channels QVC and HSE, as well as the most important international broadcasters (including BBC World, Euronews, France 24, TV5 Monde, Deutsche Welle, TVE Internacional, Bloomberg, Al Jazeera, CCTV News, NHK).
