London Live first commissions for 2014 launch

November 28, 2013

London Live, the new entertainment TV channel for London, has commissioned three new series; two factual entertainment lifestyle and one entertainment as well as a run of comedy pilots to kick start the programming slate for its Spring 2014 launch.

The channel’s Head of Programming, Jonathan Boseley, has commissioned Jamie Oliver’s Fresh One to make a 30 x 30 series about passionate foodies based in London.

Renowned Films, meanwhile, has been given the green light to produce F2 Kicks Off, a 16 x 30 sports lifestyle show, showcasing the extraordinary skills of the freestyle footballing ‘F2’ boys Billy Wingrove and Jeremy Lynch.

The third commission, Nerd TVs’ The Anti Social Network, developed with creative agency Holler, is a hidden camera game show for the Facebook generation. Participants are invited to hand over control of their social network profiles to a panel of some of the world’s leading comedy writers, giving them the opportunity to run, and maybe ruin, their ‘social’ lives.

A unique ‘Comedy Hotspot’ season has also been created for the launch schedule, designed to showcase pilots created by emerging comedy producers, which will use audience feedback to guide London Lives’ commissioning for a whole series

Jonathan Boseley, Head of Programming of London Live, said: “I am thrilled to be announcing our first slate of original commissions. Our ambition is to blend emerging and established talent to create talked about, engaging and noisy programming – an ethos shared by Fresh One, Renowned Films and Nerd TV. We are excited to be working with all three parties before the pilots have even been made, such is our confidence that these concepts will deliver content that Londoners will love.”
