DTG appoints Hayler as Chair of DTG TOG

December 11, 2013

The DTG, the industry association for digital television in the UK, has confirmed the appointment of Keith Hayler as the Chair of the DTG Technical Oversight Group (TOG).

The DTG has broadened its focus to reflect the increased diversity of technical areas that DTG members are involved in. Activity will now be divided into individual work streams, ranging from Ultra HD to Video to Mobile, with each reporting into the newly created TOG.  Hayler will lead the TOG as an independent Chair, and will report the progress of each work stream into DTG Council.

Hayler has forty years experience in the broadcast industry, with an engineering career that spans DTT, satellite and radio technologies. From his time as Castle Transmission’s lead technical authority for the UK DTT launch, through to the launch of the world’s first terrestrial DAB network for the BBC, Hayler has achieved personal involvement in several world-first broadcasting achievements.
