Movie search website FindAnyFilm has become the first external partner to use the Playstation Store API, adding another legal point of purchase for consumers to the service but also extending the accessibility for in home viewing.
FindAnyFilm.com aggregates film availability across all formats, allowing film fans to search for titles across localised cinema listings, comprehensive DVD, Blu-Ray and UltraViolet releases and an ever growing range of digital download and streaming services enabling consumers to watch at the push of a button.
FindAnyFilm continues to play a key part in the Industry Trust’s consumer education campaigns, by providing a one stop shop of legitimate places for consumers to find film availability in the UK.
Consumers will now have visibility of the range of titles available on the Playstation Store, not only when they use the FindAnyFilm service but on wider consumer film sites. With the likes of Yahoo, Indie London and Cine-Vue all embedding the FindAnyFilm data within their website in the form of book, buy and watch now buttons, there is further encouragement for film fans to consume content legally and combat key drivers to piracy such as availability, convenience and affordability.
The PlayStation Store is part of Sony Entertainment Network’s range of services, and is available on all PlayStationNetwork(PSN) connected PlayStation3, PlayStation4 and PlayStationVita computer entertainment systems, as well as online. It contains thousands of movies and TV shows, as well as more than 20,000 pieces of game-related content including downloadable games, add-ons and themes.
Mark de Quervain, Partnerships Director of FindAnyFilm, said that audiences want easy choices when it comes to home viewing. “Blu-ray and DVD are still the most popular formats when it comes to home entertainment, but the digital market is growing. So it’s great that Playstation Store is now part of FindAnyFilm.com as the content is already connected to users’ home systems giving them an easy route to watching and enjoying films. We’re delighted to be working with Sony Network Entertainment to connect audiences with even more ways to buy and view content.”
Gordon Thornton, Vice President, Sony Network Entertainment Europe said the company was working with FindAnyFilm.com to make it as easy as possible for consumers to buy and watch their favourite content from trusted retailers. “PlayStation Store offers a great range of the latest movies and TV shows in both standard and high definition, as well as 3D where possible, meaning that customers will be spoiled for choice and can rely on our video quality, which is best in class.”
