ALi Corporation, the STB solution provider, has announced that ALi’s latest generation of advanced security STB chipset has achieved NOCS certification from NAGRA, a Kudelski Group company and the world’s leading independent provider of content protection and multiscreen television solutions. Now supporting NAGRA NOCS, ALi’s advanced security chipsets offer solutions for secure delivery of premium entertainment that service providers can rapidly deploy with confidence on content and revenue protection.

Maurice van Riek, SVP Content & Asset Security of NAGRA, comments, “NAGRA is pleased to see that ALi’s advanced STB chipset has passed certification by NAGRA’s rigorous security requirements. The ability of ALi SoC to achieve NAGRA’s certification shows ALi’s commitment to meeting the advanced security needs of pay-TV operators around the world using NAGRA’s conditional access systems. ALi’s solutions in entry to mid-level market segments are complementing NAGRA’s wide range of chipset solutions and will enable new and unique opportunities for both companies not only in emerging markets but in mature markets as well.”

Daniel Huang, Chief Operating & Technology Officer of ALi, states, “As a global leader in STB technology, ALi has been highly devoted to developing innovative architecture and implementation of STB SOC with enhanced security capabilities. Integrated with NAGRA NOCS, which provides a unified and certified hardware root of trust, ALi’s STB chipset achieves a well-recognized level of security and therefore answers to the pay-TV industry’s demand for advanced security.” “Integration of NAGRA NOCS onto ALi’s other lines of chipsets is to follow soon, which will provide secure, cost-effective chipset platforms powering innovative set-top boxes and modules for pay-TV operators,” adds Daniel Huang.
