Live streaming, catch-up TV and media management solutions provider Simplestream has confirmed the availability of its free live TV streaming app – TVPlayer – prior to a full service launch later in January.
TVPlayer has been selected by Apple as one of its best new apps, with Simplestream already seeing huge traffic. It is also available for iOS and Android on Google play and Amazon Apps, with Windows to follow.
Among the channels on board are BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 5, Kerrang, Bloomberg and Sony SAB, with further to be revealed at full service launch.
The TVPlayer app has been designed so that it enables users to scroll through the UK’s most watched channels by channel or genre, including Entertainment, Kids, Music and News.
A tablet version and the website will also be going live later in January.
