In an attempt to capture more TV subscribers, Spain’s largest cable company ONO is to offer its recently launched online TV service for free to all its 100 Mbps subscribers who are not currently taking a TV service.
ONO TV online currently distributes up to 40 TV channels and VoD content with access though PCs and Apple Mac and iPad devices, with plans to launch it on mobile phones and Android tablets in the near future. The TV offer will also be extended to up to 60 TV channels.
Competition in the TV Everywhere market has intensified in recent months, with other pay-TV operators such as Movistar TV and Orange TV, and Canal Plus much earlier with Yomvi, launching their OTT services with aggressive marketing campaigns.
