Agama and NexStreaming partnership

March 13, 2014

Agama Technologies, the video service quality assurance expert and NexStreaming, a provider of mobile video player SDKs, have announced a technology partnership to deliver a pre-integrated solution for efficient video service quality assurance to joint over-the-top (OTT) video service provider customers worldwide.

The integration of Agama’s renowned Embedded Monitoring Solution with NexStreaming’s NexPlayer SDK – an HLS player SDK for Android, iOS, Windows 8 and Google TV – allows video service providers with OTT multiscreen applications to extend their Agama continuous and real-time monitoring, assurance and analytics technology into the subscribers’ NexStreaming-powered viewing devices. This ensures control of the delivered service quality throughout the end-to-end distribution, allowing providers to assure each service within the head-end, across the network, and all the way down to the end device and player.

“We are pleased to now offer our customers an easy way to implement Agama’s transparency-enabling solution to assure a high-quality OTT and multiscreen video experience,” says IlTaek Lim, CEO at NexStreaming. “We’ve been working on exciting commercial projects together with Agama for some time now, and we look forward to continuing and evolving the collaboration going forward.”

Johan Görsjö, Director of Product Management at Agama Technologies, adds: “Our integration with NexPlayer SDK facilitates a quick and straightforward deployment that allows our joint customers to immediately establish proactive management of service quality and customer satisfaction, which ultimately enables accelerated growth and profitability with strengthened customer loyalty. This partnership further strengthens our position in offering the market’s most complete support for assuring OTT and multiscreen deployments end-to-end, from service creation to end-customer consumption.”

The NexPlayer SDK supports HLS streaming and the latest features, such as subtitles, closed captioning and time shifting. It can be easily integrated into any mobile application and it solves the problem of fragmentation, in terms of device capabilities. Once integrated, NexPlayer SDK enables the given video services in all devices with HD video quality, regardless of the device maker, OS version and device model.

Part of the comprehensive Agama DTV Monitoring Solution, the Agama Embedded Monitoring Solution forms a crucial link in assuring service quality in any video delivery chain. It can perform continuous and stateful monitoring of service QoE, QoS, usage and system health for IPTV, broadcast and OTT set-top boxes, PC media players, tablets, smart phones, residential gateways and similar devices. High scalability allows for many millions of customer devices and players to be continuously and concurrently monitored in real-time; and, the solution enables service providers to systematically manage service quality, raise operational efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction.

Attendees of TV Connect 2014 in London in March can see solution demonstrations and learn more both at the Agama stand #95 and at the NexStreaming stand POD 12.
