ZTE Corporation, a global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has launched the ZTE MeBox, an IPTV and OTT dual-mode STB.

The ZTE MeBox STB (model number ZXV10 B760E) is an embedded audio/video decoding device based on the open Android platform. It features advanced hardware architecture and an optimised H.264 video decoding algorithm, making HD video playout more smooth and vivid. It is based on ZTE’s unique Convergent Network Video Platform and can support various consumer needs in the triple-play era, for example, remote surveillance, video conferencing, multi-screen interaction and screen-casting, home media storage and sharing.

“The ZTE MeBox is a lightweight, smart and comprehensive solution as powerful as traditional STB. Moreover, we want it to include new functions such as cloud storage and video-conferencing. With a unique design of introducing a cloud-management personal assistant, the MeBox can quickly learn user preferences and behaviors, automatically search for relevant OTT content, and cache them closer to the user in advance. This smart and flexible product by ZTE is leading the trend in dual-module STB market,” says Frank Fang, Vice President at ZTE.
